Saturday, August 10th – Gowanus Brooklyn’s, “The Old American Can Factory” is one of the best undiscovered venues in town. On Saturday head to this sprawling space, as Rooftop Films and SXSW band together for a screening of the film, “Elena.” (Rooftop Films)

Friday, August 2nd – Sunday, August 4th – With so much turmoil going on in the Yankees camp it’s great to see them at a homestand against a team they will surely crush. Head up to the stadium to watch the Bronx Bombers take on the Detroit Tigers all weekend long! (New York Yankees)

Music & Entertainment

Friday, August 9th – Movie release day. Quiet night tonight? Check out the films opening this weekend. Join Matt Damon as man on the mission who tries to bring equality to a ruined earth in, “Elysium” (R). Besides Mr. Damon this futuristic piece co-stars acting powerhouse Ms. Jodi Foster. The R-Rated fun rolls on when Jason Sudeikis and Jennifer Aniston play a drug deal and stripper who pretend to be a family in a romp that seems very similiar to the ‘Vaction’ movies!

Saturday, August 10th – Major Lazer, Matt & Kim, Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, Rockie Fresh, Destructo, Keys N Krates, DJ SLiiNK and more will light up the Williamsburg Park stage for the, “Mad Decent Block Party.” Nowhere else will you find a line-up as diverse as this.  (Williamsburg Park)

Saturday, August 10th – Jump on the ferry to Governors Island for a party you won’t likely find anywhere else on Earth! It’s, “Voodoo” presented by the club mavens, Pacha. DJ, Chriss Vargas will making bodies move all night long. (Pacha on Governors Island)

Saturday, August 10th - This weekend marks the second of three Saturday’s in August when seven miles of NYC’s streets are opened for people to play, walk, bike, and bask in the remaining days if summer 2013! If you want to participate in all this active fun you better wake up early as Summer Streets runs for 7:00am to 1:00pm sharp. Hey, cars need some love too! (Summer Streets)
