Saturday, July 27th – Pier 57 is hosting a new weekend event series, ”9/500’ which highlights emerging creative youth in New York City. Inspired by Basquiat’s “Downtown 500” group of artists, musicians, poets, and dancers, ”9/500’ will highlight nine vibrant personalities who will perform and create an experience for the public. Friday, July 19th – The Yankees are expecting A-Rod back any day now.  Derek’s on the mend.  And look who’s back in pinstripes – it’s Alfonso Soriano.  This weekend the Yanks welcome the dangerous Rays back to The Bronx for a weekend set sure to be an AL East Showdown.  Tickets are available during a beautiful weekend for baseball. Music & Entertainment

Friday, July 26th – Movie release day. Quiet night tonight? Check out the films opening this weekend. Hugh Jackman straps on the claws yet again for the highly anticipated X-Men spin off, “The Wolverine” (PG-13). Prepare for a very dark look at this classic comic character! Park & Rec’s beloved sour puss Aubrey Plaza hits the big screen in her first leading role in, “The To Do List” (R). This 1993 based comedy is super to keep you in stitches all weekend long.

Sunday, July 28th – New Brunswick, NJ’s own Gaslight Anthem has blown up over the past year due to their terrific working man ethic and being looped in with the likes of Bruce Springsteen didn’t hurt either!
