Saturday, December 22nd – Valentina Kozlova, former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet, will present her company in the full length, “Nutcracker.” Dancers are drawn from Kozlova’s midtown Manhattan school with special guests. (The Nutcracker)

Sunday, December 23rd – Your Brooklyn Nets (damn it feels so good to say that) return to the Barclays Center to take on the Philadelphia 76ers. Make this holiday weekend special by taking in a game with the family and supporting our new home team. Who knows you might even bump into Jay-Z? (Brooklyn Nets)

Music & Entertainment

Friday, December 14th – Movie release day. Quiet night tonight? Check out these two flicks to kick your Christmas break off on the right foot! Judd Apatow returns with the semi-sequel to the smash hit, “Knocked Up” with, “This Is 40″ (R). This time out we follow Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd’s characters as the comically come to grips with growing older. On a more serious note, Academy Award winning director, Kathryn Bigelow returns to form with, “Zero Dark Thirty” (R). This powerful film boldly sets out to show viewers exactly how we got Osama Bin Laden.

Friday, December 21st – Saturday, December 22nd – It’s, “The Surfjohn Stevens Christmas Sing-A-Long Seasonal Affective Disorder Yuletide Disaster Pageant On Ice!” If that snark filled title doesn’t grab you how bout the fact that this entire weekend of shows is completely sold out. The indie rock hero is sure to blow away his diehard fans while converting all first timers. What are you waiting for get on Craigslist and get a ticket now! (Bowery Ballroom)

Friday, December 21st – Was the Mayan calendar right? If so then no one is reading this. But in any case head to Brooklyn infamous Cameo Gallery for the, “Apocalypse Party!” Join DJs Joakim and Jacques Renault as they hold down the fort for this end of the world party! (Cameo Gallery)

Saturday, December 22nd – Sunday, December 23rd – The Littlefield performance art space continues to surprise us with amazing events. This weekend is no different, and perfect for last minute shoppers. Head down to Gowanus for Brooklyn Craft Central’s 5th Annual, “Holiday Craft Market.” This final weekends hours are 11am-5pm both days.
