That’s why you’re heading to the cinema today to see, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ (PG-13). For the last time, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner heat up the screen. Guess what Twilight fans? Did you know there was a President named, “Lincoln” (PG-13) who did some stuff? Well, I guess sleeping in the cold for a week in Union Square will cause you to miss Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and David Strathairn in a toure de force performance. Oh well.

Friday, November 16th – Hey, we all need a good laugh sometimes right? We couldn’t think of a better time for this man to come back to NYC to cheer us up with his bands trademark take on mundane 1980s pop standards. That’s right kids, “The Dan Band” hits the Gramercy Theatre stage this evening to rock your funny bone just like you remember in the classic comedy, “Old School!” (Gramercy Theatre)

Nightlife

Friday, November 16th – The lower east side’s best venue, Hotel Chantelle, is hosting the latest edition of the UNDRGRND party series in it’s basement club SGT. Want to get in with no issues? Hit up the social site Kiwibox for easy party access! (UNDRGRND)

Other

Saturday, November 17th – We adore the Powerhouse Arena, and support the efforts to get them back on their feet after the hurricane. Saturday’s fundraiser will be a day of readings, refreshments, signings, and book browsing to help Powerhouse Arena’s post-Sandy recovery. $10 donation suggested . (Powerhouse Arena Benefit)

Sunday, November 18th – Has it really been 10 years already? Yes, and it’s delicious! Matt Timms,  the creator of the highly popular “Takedown” events is celebrating the ten year anniversary of these super fun events. If you aren’t already in the know, and shame on you if you aren’t, “Takedowns” pit home cooks against each other for food supremacy. This Sunday is by far the craziest and tastiest of all of them where chili is front and center! All this culinary excitement goes down at only one place, The Bell House! (The Bell House)
