Arts & Culture

Friday, September 14h -  Put a hold on tonight’s happy hour to enrich your brain a little! The Williamsburg Art & Historical Center will be hosting, “Wildlife in the Post-Natural Age.” The show focuses on work that addresses the interplay between wildlife and our domesticated selves and spaces. It probes the persistence of wildlife in American culture and individual imagination through the work of a diverse group of city-based artists. (WAH Center)

Sports

Sunday, September 16th – Eli Manning, and Victor Cruz head back to New Jersey this Sunday to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 1pm start at Metlife Stadium. Let’s see how the boys in blue perform after a shaky start. (New York Giants)

Music & Entertainment

Friday, September 14th – Movie release day. Quiet night tonight? Check out these two flicks coming out today. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams join forces with powerhouse director Paul Thomas Anderson in, “The Master” (R). Anderson is super picky about what movies he makes. So expect this to knock your socks off. On the other hand you might want to avoid the other Paul Anderson’s film, “Resident Evil: Retribution” (R). Milla Jovovich returns as Alice once again to kill zombies, and other CGI creatures in this endless series of video game based sequels.

Saturday, September 15th – Platinum rockers and Broadway giants, Green Day are hitting NYC this weekend! No, they aren’t headlining Madison Square Garden or even Jones Beach. The legendary road dogs are keeping the venue modest while pumping the raw energy way up. The venue, Irving Plaza is totally sold out so prepared to pay some steep scalper prices! (Irving Plaza)

 Nightlife

Friday, September 15th – San Francisco-based DJ Adrian & Mysterious D are mashup kings. The duo have brought this vision around the globe, but on Saturday night you can catch them in the West Village for, “Bootie NYC, Anti-Back to School Mashup Party.” These guys might even make you forget about Girl Talk, well maybe.
