Comedian Don Jamieson: A LocalBozo.com Interview

The worlds of comedy and heavy metal are no strangers to each other. In the 1980′s the legendary Sam Kinison partied and collaborated with the likes of Mötley Crüe and Anthrax. Comedian Don Jamieson is continuing this tradition in a bold way, as he flawlessly straddles both worlds. Metal fans can catch Jamieson on the highly acclaimed “That Metal Show,” on VH1 Classic. Jamieson is joined by fellow comedian and writing partner Jim Florentine and Eddie Trunk, Hard Rock’s walking encyclopedia. Jamieson’s new album “Live and Hilarious” on Metal Blade Records, currently sits in the Top 20 on iTunes comedy charts and in the top 10 on the Billboard charts.

The LocalBozo crew was fortunate enough to get a few minutes with Jamieson, outside of one of his favorite east village bars. There, we discussed topics ranging from recording his live album, working on “That Metal Show,” and his “Acoustic Snuffcore” band, Gunfire-N-Sodomy- a band which Don says is heavily influenced by bands like Slayer, Six Feet Under, Deicide, and GG Allin & the Murder Junkies. In Gunfire-N-Sodomy, Jamieson performs under the guise of Mule, a sadistic cretin who delivers “Sodomizing Screams.”
