If you are an avid reader of LocalBozo.com, you’ve undoubtedly read our posts pumping Hoboken, New Jersey’s own Rosewood Ghosts. Back in August, we collaborated on a live recording of two exclusive songs strictly for our website that were filmed at Paul Vincent Studios, also in Hoboken. After weeks of preparing the final cuts, LocalBozo.com is proud to present them to you today.
Rosewood Ghosts emerged as a 7 piece band from the former Bill Owens Five in the fall of 2008. The band’s moniker evolved from a contest where fans could help to create a name for the newly formed band. Since most of the suggestions were downright awful, the band holed themselves up in a room filled with whiskey, beer, laughter, and a mission: a new band name. After many days of writing words upon words down on hundreds of pieces of paper, Rosewood Ghosts were born. And in May of this year, the band officially released their self-titled debut.
With so many members involved, it can be difficult to keep track of so many moving parts, but the band uses a relatively simple formula. Essentially, guitarists Jamie DiTringo and Saul Slotnick work on writing the music and subsequently bring in singer Joe Montague for the melodies. Because of their eclectic material, the band draws comparisons from a range of artists- from Pearl Jam to Wilco, The Black Crowes to The Doors.
But so far the band’s biggest challenge has been getting their music heard. Says guitarist Jamie DiTringo, “People who have heard the album love it. People who see us live think we are excellent. Unfortunately there aren’t enough people who have listened to the album and seen us live. We know what we do is solid work. We just need more people to catch on with us.” After seeing the band perform live, LocalBozo.com wholeheartedly agrees.
Currently the band is taking some time off to work on writing new material but they have a potentially huge idea that they are keeping secret for now, waiting until it has been 100% confirmed before sharing it with the world. So until then, we’ve got your fix right here with the debut of two brand new songs, “Wait for You,” and “Lying on the Tracks,” as well as an interview that we conducted with the band.

Normally, it’s not our style to release three videos in the same week, much less the same day. But since this band is LocalBozo approved, we’ve got the fix for you music fiends to get you through the entire weekend.
