Blog: uStadium Holiday Party at Webster Hall
With one of the more exhilarating finishes to a Monday Night Football game this season, it was only fitting that the minds behind stadium football meets social media app uStadium host their holiday party on Monday evening. The Marlin Room at Webster Hall would play host to the event which would welcome hundreds of spirited revelers out to enjoy a four hour open bar and some choice comfort foods provided by some local eateries in and around New York City.
We arrived promptly at 7pm and jumped on the line that jutted out from Webster Hall’s front entrance, down the block in the dead of winter. Fortunately, the line moved quickly as guests flashed their tickets and were allowed up to the second floor space. Dozens of donated unwrapped gifts greeted guests as they headed in to the main floor as part of uStadium’s partnership with Toys For Tots. Each guest was asked to donate a present to the organization on behalf of the US Marine Corps Reserve- and the array of different gifts built to an overwhelmingly positive selection as the evening wore on. Once inside, guests were treated to a variety of food and drinks backed by the uStadium house DJ working the mix.
The atmosphere inside was incredibly laid back amid the pours of bubbly mixed drinks and Stella Artois draught beers. Almost as soon as the sterno lids were opened up, lines began forming for some of the fare on hand courtesy of Brooklyn restaurants like The Smoke House and Peaches, who were serving mouthwatering crispy fried chicken, perfectly salted and seasoned alongside a chilled corn and bean salad, and some smoked brisket sliders smeared with a spread of creamy slaw. Later on in the evening, attendees would be treated to some savory Italian meatballs, pasta, and sausage and peppers from Graziella’s of White Plains.
While the evening was a philanthropic one, the folks at uStadium did manage to bring considerable attention to their brand and to their app, which is currently available in Beta form on iTunes. Their goal is to empower the fan experience at sporting events like never before- first and foremost for NFL fans- and give the talking head side of you, your very own platform to be heard by a much wider audience. And if you can’t start your own blog to sound off on things that you like and dislike, then uStadium might be the next best thing.
