August, 31st – Sunday, September 2nd – Kick off the long Labor Day weekend in the Bronx! No, seriously go support your New York Yankees at the, “House that Jeter built” to watch the boys take on the Baltimore Orioles. First pitch tonight is 7:05pm. (New York Yankees)

Friday, August 31st – Movie release day. Quiet night tonight? Check out these two flicks coming out today. Kick off your Labor Day weekend right with some Bootleggers! Join Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Guy Pearce in “Lawless” (R) a gangster tale of gritty depression-era Virginia. On the, “horror” front feel free to check out out “The Possession” a Sam Raimi produced flick which goes back to the dry well of “Exorcist” rip-offs. Either way you go, enjoy your Labor Day and be safe!

Saturday, September 1st – Randall’s Island will be shaking all weekend long with 100+ of the world’s top electronic music artists headlined by David Guetta tonight, Axwell on Saturday and Tiësto to close it all out on Sunday! Yes, it’s Electric Zoo and it’s finally here. (Electric Zoo)

Saturday, September 1st – Get your pork butt on the ferry, because it’s time for Pig Island! You’ve been waiting all year to make the trip to Governors Island to sample 25 of the best chefs in the 5 boroughs hog offerings. This all day festival of decadence will also include plenty of adult beverages like brews from Sixpoint, limited boutique cider offerings from Farnum Hill, and New York State Wine from the North Fork and the Finger Lakes.
