Friday, April 27th – The famed Ballet Hispanico, returns to Chelsea’s Joyce Theater! This year’s program pays tribute to the richness and range of the company’s Latino roots and the diverse talents of the dancers. The performance will feature African and Caribbean influences. (Joyce Theater)

Friday, April 27th – Fort Green cafe, Baguetteaboudit is featuring the work of Richard Lebenson, a local artist who has been active in the art community since 1967. With a key focus on illustration, Lebenson has a long history of playing with light and shadow in his work, as well as exploring the spaces of beauty found within the mundane or even grotesque. Friday, April 27th – Once the work bell rings, take the train to the Bronx. Your, New York Yankees take on the Detroit Tigers in a best of three series starting tonight. Yankees’ Nova will take on Justin Verlander in the evenings pitching match up. (New York Yankees)

Friday, April 27th – Movie release day. Quiet night tonight? Check out these releases coming out today. Our second favorite Cusack, John stars as legendary writer of the macabre Edgar Alan Poe in, “The Raven” (R). Let’s hope this ultra dark fictionalized version of the author lives up to the volumes of terrifying tales! And on the romantic front, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt star in, “The Five-Year Engagement.” This Nicholas Stoller directed comedy is said to be the next Annie Hall. Therefore, we are in.

Sunday, April 29th – Indie darlings, The Shins return to New York’s Terminal 5 for a long weekend of sold out shows. Their catalog of catchy haunting rock has taken the boys around the world, and landed them on memorable movie soundtracks. (Terminal 5)

Saturday, April 28th – Paris will be brought to life as you walk into the majestic downtown party hall, Capitale. Get your tails and flapper dresses ready for a spectacular evening, inspired by Woody Allen’s Oscar-nominated film, Midnight in Paris. (French Cabaret Dinners)

Saturday, April 28th – Are you ready to go over the top? Well head on over to, White Castle’s 35th NYC Big Apple Grapple Arm Wrestling Championships! Mega-bar Village Pourhouse Sports Bar will host this event, testing all comers arm strength!
